Help sourcing 90mm cups

Post

Looking for 90mm cups.

Does anyone know where I can get the newer 90mm cups from here in the uk? I have an '82 1.5 cab (which I no longer have the engine or box for) and am finally getting round to putting it back on the road, I have 2 engine's both with gearboxes but they both have 100mm cups whereas my original shafts are 90mm. I rebuilt my original shafts and only then found out the cups are wrong! I've read through loads of threads on what can and can't be done and have come to the conclusion that changing the cups would be easiest (do correct me if I'm wrong) but can't seem to find a source. Apologies for starting another gearbox cup thread. Thanks. 👍

Any pre 83 and some 84's autos were mostly 90mm cups.  I got a set on a Auto that I swapped.  Getting them off at the breakers requires a few "special" tools
I detail that in my how too on replacing the differential seals in the signature link.  If you have a good Breakers about you may find them there.

IIRC the circumference of the rear shaft is a little over 11" for the 90  if it over 12" they are 100mm.

see: 020 Flange

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks for the reply.
I have read the how too's and many other threads regarding this which have some great info. Unfortunately sourcing the cups seems to be another matter. Can I just confirm that if I get the newer 90mm cups I can swap them out to replace 100mm ones used on the 020 box, meaning I can use my original shafts with the 90mm cv? Or have in misunderstood all I have read? Thanks.

Yes, the cups are easily swapped out using new seals.
The Cups are the only differences between the 90mm 100mm. Differential output shafts are all the same so the 100 or 90 cups will fit all the diffs of the 020 or 010's.

The Spindles are different, the 90 shaft will fit into 100mm spindles.  However the 100mm Shafts will not fit in to the 90mm spindles.
