Heater tubes clashing with dash panels

Ive re-installed my heater tubes, but when i try to install my lower dash panels they clash with the tubes.

Have I installed the tubes correctly??

As an aside, has anyone replaced the originals with anything better?

Drivers side should be over the top of the steering column to start with

I think you've got them the wrong way round. The 2 piece one goes drivers side so you can get it over the steering column. That's the tricky one to get in.

Ok ill try that but its damn tight! The ETKA diagram shows them the way i've currently got them….

going to take the cover of my cabriolet tonight sure i have took the knee bar out will get you a picture mate

Appreciate the photos thanks. The tubes are the ones that came off the car, so I know they fit…

Ill have a play this weekend and see what I can do. Not sure if its a cab/tintop difference but it looks like you have a little more room that I do above the steering column, could be wrong of course.

Probably overkill but doesnt do any harm….thought it might help reduce any potential leakage
