bought a set of these from eBay only £20 but come with no fitting instructions - anyone got pictures showing theirs fitted as it appears it needs holes drilled into the body and want to make sure I'm doing it right first! or a step by step guide if anyone has one?
thanks

Gas bonnet struts - fitting help
The thought of drilling the wing and inner wing always filled me with dread !!
I prefer to modify the strut so that it fits between the bonnet bolt and a wing bolt.
I have found that you can unscrew the end off the strut ( a little heat might be required) and then shorten it and cut some more thread on, so that it all lines up with a wing bolt hole. I also prefer to use the fixing where it is bolted from under the wing, this requires the removal of the plastic arch liner if you have one.

Hey, not sure if you decided on your approach for this? I opted for the drilling wing method (!) wasn't easy as you have to take off inner arch covers and a lot of my screws were worn making it take ten times long!

Er, my "pennyworth" (if you don't mind ?) why not put the "other end" on to the "other" bonnet hinge bolt (greater leverage, the strut could work better ?)

Does anyone have the modified body/shaft length on these modded struts? I am looking to do this on my MK1 Rocco, thanks!
