gap between front bumper and slam panel

iv noticed the gap behind my bumper is a fair size, I'm just wondering if theres a miss matched par or a part missing.

That looks about right, if you check the line from the wheel arch you should be able to see if it follows the arch body kit in case it's dropped a little or not in line.
The gap is there so if you have a little bump the bumper has room to go back and not hit the slam panel.
Don't really have a picture from your angle but here's my 1988 car.
Only 4 bolts holds it on, 2 each side but it should be pop riveted to the wheel arch liner.
