Fuel leaking from bike carbs

Post

Hi, so I've swapped my old 1.3 out of my mk1 and replaced it with a rebuilt 1.3 with a 5speed and a bike carb setup, everything is done but I can't get it to idle and I'm clueless, I have a standard gf engine with a Suzuki bandit 1200 bike carb setup I'm using the standard mechanical fuel pump and an fpr, i have spark and can get it to fire up but it won't idle and fuel pisses out of the carb air intake area when I turn it over, I originally thought my fuel pressure was too high and so I got a cheap fpr, still not really getting anywhere tho, ideas? Thanks

When I had fuel spraying out of a carb, it was due to a plugged exhaust.  It would idle, but giving it any additional gas it shot right out of the throat.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Check your floats are moving and not stuck.

Floats are fine, already done the usual checks, i tried gravity feeding the carbs and it would idle, wouldn't rev tho but im presuming that's due to a lack of pressure.
so ive ordered an electrical pump with a lower psi, im hoping that will solve it, im guessing the fpr is either pants or just not working properly as im not getting back pressure from the carbs to get a reading, its like the float bowls fill up then instantly over flow.
I also thought maybe the mechanical pump is knackered and not cutting the pressure??? i dunno :(

You only need about 4 psi so I would also fit a pressure reducing valve too that way you can control it down.
