Front door speakers

Post

Hi guys. Can anyone recommend some front door speakers for my 1990 cabby.
The ones that are fitted sit very proud of the door card and interfere with the window winder so a pair of shallower ones would help.
Not got amps or subs so just a pair of decent sounding speakers would be ideal.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Buy a set of Crank extenders.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Do they work on the rears?

It's odd, but mine hit the covers which appear standard.

The rears on the 90  Extenders that moved them out about 1/4 of an inch to avoid hitting the grille cover, a lot of folks loose then behind the door cards when taking the handle off and don't see it happening.

they should look like this.

They weren't on the 90, with the oem radio as the oem speakers were mounted behind the door panel but if they had the aktive installed with the larger rear 4X6 speakers they were. After 91.5 they were added to all the Cabby's as standard over here.

Not sure if you know but the rear windows don't go all the way down, they sit about 1/2 way down and that's how Karmann built the car.

Great info as always, thanks guys. So could i fit the OE ones of the rears to the front does anyone know and is there a part number that i could search for to buy as the Strybuc ones seem a bit difficult to get hold of and would rather use original parts.

Thanks

I couldn't find any of the rears (155 847 363). Found a seal behind the door card though.
