Settling In
hello im looking for the engine code for my 1988 gti convertible
or if anybody has recently bought some silicone hoses for the same car some advice on best ones please

88 GTi will be a DX engine if it's still the original engine.
There is a stamp area just underneath spark plug 3 which should have the code on.
or look at the bottom of page 1 in my build thread as you can see my DX engine.

Can't help with silicone hoses as I've kept with the rubber hoses. You will need to buy the 2 kits to replace all the hoses and works out a few ££££s

If yours is a DX which if it’s a 1.8 it’s more than likely is I bought these for mine
