ELECTRIC WINDOW ISSUE

Hi peeps can anyone on here help me please not sure what to try next
So last week my passenger window stopped working it is fully up at the moment when I press the switch I can here some kind of relay click under my steering wheel but no movement from the window I've swopped the switches over to eliminate the switch and both work fine on drivers side.
Today I have asked a mechanic to look at the window for me he tested the Motor and managed to get the window to move up and down using his probe so I know the motor still works he said the problem seems to be coming from what ever is under the steering wheel he doesn't no that much about mk1s so really didn't want to mess with any wiring.
Does anyone have any ideas what is the box under steering side could it be faulty .

Here is the truth table for the relays.


Probably a bad relay, I have heard of folks re-soldering all the relays.  

The controller works both sides, you may have a broken wire in between the door, and the "a"pilar  a broken ground would affect up and down.

But it is usually the Controller gets water on it from the rain drains plugged, and water packing up over air plenum on a/c and over the seal on the plate.

I have a thing in the thread where you can make a cover over the top after you probably replace it.

Once you get the box out does everything just unplug and plug back into new one one that makes sense 3 plugs

Yes, the two brown ones have keys, so they are murphy proof,, but the large white one usually have to wiggle and pull, don't pull the wires tho…..Pull the Plugs only.
That white one is a bear to get out.
