Electric aerial wire colour?

Post

Ok so my aerial has never gone up or down since I have owned the car 92 sportline. Before swapping it out I thought I would check there is a wire connected to the antenna blue wire from the back of the head unit and guess what... nothing. So does anyone know what the wire colour is that should connect up so the antenna comes up and down? Tried to look for it coming out of bulkhead but can spot it... and plus there is a sh!t load of wires back there

Are you sure that you have an electric antenna as that was an option you could buy.  I would take off the inner fender and see what you really have.

Look here for wireing colors that are usually associated with the OEM radios.

Ah right assumed with it been the sportline cabby and a late model would have been included standars. Its very stiff to move hence why I assumed electric as I havnt beem to rough with it but its hard to push down. How would I know with out ripping inner arch liner out id it was electric is there a noticable way of telling

Thanks for the link. So looks lile from the link its a plain white wire im searching for…. that is if its now electric at all!!! :-)

No, there is no easy way to tell other than to physically put your eyes on it I am afraid.

On newer Radios if you change them out it is usually a blue wire for the antenna and a blue/white to turn on the pre-amp.
