DX GTi - Vacuum system query
On my 1988 Cabriolet the T piece goes to the rocker cover breather and anti stall device.

I've now thought a bit about this and think it may be because there is an uprated throttle body and WUR. I think the T is to link the vacuum system to the WUR.
I will do some more searching. Hopefully someone who has this modification can put me right
Cheers

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Apologies if this is stating the obvious.

I don't think it's original, someone has cut the hose and added it, if you have a WUR with full throttle enrichment I would connect it to that.

Hi there, thanks for the advice. And no I don't think it's stating the obvious. You've actually given me a bit of reassurance and hopefully solved the conundrum. Thank you sir.

www.cabby-info has a plethora of vacuum configuration in pdf form. Try there to see if you can figure it out.
Hi there, thank you for your time and advice.I checked out the site but the set ups were not like mine.
I m pretty sure now the t-piece is for attaching hose to the 16v WUR that has been fitted.
Thanks again.

Hi Sean,
This is my standard DX engine. You can see that one outlet has been capped off (yellow cap).
The other outlet has a black pipe running from it to the rear of the dashboard clocks for the MFA.
This link may help you too.

Thank you. I think mine is a slightly different set up, but thanks for taking the time out to reply.

Different WUR Paul, reduces the control pressure at WOT to stop it leaning out. I haven't done side by side rolling road comparisons, but that is what the vacuum WUR is designed to do. I seem to think they were a std fitment on the 16v engine, but I may be wrong.

Hi there yes you're correct about the different WUR and it has an Audi or 16v throttle body which I didn't originally realise…

Hello and thanks for your input. Could you post a pic of the WUR, or rather the hose attached to it? I'm not sure whether the hose should be a single length same ID as the WUR vacuum connection or a thin tube with pieces on the end to connect.
Cheers Sean

Hiya Dano, thanks for this, very much appreciated. Could you tell me where the tube to the dizzy vacuum connects?

DX GTi - Vacuum system query
I recently connected my WUR up to the vac system. I connected it to the spare where that yellow cap was.
But i have a later WUR with a vacuum connection from a Scirocco 16v KR engine. Its an old school upgrade.
Original WURs on Mk1s dont have a vacuum AFAIK.
This pic isnt from mine but i copied it.
As you can see you need a push on adaptor to match the larger ID from the WUR to the smaller Vac systme.
