Dreaded hot start issue

Running out of ideas

So here goes…

Still struggling guys

Starts fine first time cold.

Try to drive, hit second gear, dies and is a pig to restart, when it does it runs fine no issues at all. If you drive really really really gingerly from cold it won't die.

If you stop at shop, petrol station etc, try to start and it doesn't want to know, eventually will come to life and be fine and run.

Once warm and running tick over will drop slightly and not give enough revs causing oil light to come on due to low oil pressure thanks to engine idling so low.

Doesn't miss fire.

Have changed fuel filter and fuel
Check valve.

Main pump is priming and no loud noises.

Lift pump looks new, no s**t in tank and it primes no issue.

Changed spark plugs for the hell of it.

Car does run rich and been told can smell fuel from
Behind.

Surly someone has some sort of ideas!

I'm having fuel system pressure tested next week btw

Help help help lol

year and engine goes a long way here as I can think of a few things CIS wise and Digi wise.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

87' but engine is mk2 1.8 8v EY so kjet.

At wits end, don't see it been accumulator as it is starting from cold over night.

My mate having it in couple weeks to check fuel pressure.

He works on RS turbos so if it's kjet he should diagnose.

I feel it's a stupid issue, just hope it's not serious
