Mines a 83 campaign. Found this thick black wire sticking out of the bottom of the fuse box. It's been cut by someone….not me. It was broken into a couple of months back but they just checked the contents of glovebox, nothing else. I haven't noticed this wire before. Looks a bit like aerial wire from the old aerial on n/s wing. Is that where its wire ended up? I fit a bee sting aerial years ago. Or is it something necessary? Is it an earth that's needed? I can't find the rest of the wire it's been cut from. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Aerial wire would be my guess looking at it. It routes past that way toward the wing. Guess if you trace it back it will finish somewhere by the heater matrix.

It isn't unusual for folks to cut the antenna wire instead of pulling it all the way out.
VW OEM radios had a 90 degree end to fit the radios (premium and aktive).
When I usually changed my antennas out I snipped the wire at the antenna end under the Fender and taped them to the new one to pull it through…… gotta Love the POS (Previous Owners Screwy) install/removals.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Thanks guys. Think it must be old aerial so I'll just get rid.
