Swapping leads and distributor for dins to pins? Is it possible?

Hi, I'm hoping someone on here maybe be able to help me. I took my 83 mk1 tintop gti for a service recently and the garage fitted new HT leads only they fitted leads that go into pins on the dizzy cap but my cap has dins not pins. It's resulted in the leads melting in the cap. I told the garage of the mistake and they agreed to send me new leads and dizzy cap. Only they have sent me leads with pins again only they sent the dizzy cap with pins too. Can I fit the leads and distributor cap on a car that normally has dins. Or should I just sell them on I know I should return them to the garage and have them sort it out but I want nothing more to do with them. They say the deal only in classic cars but don't actually have a clue. Sorry for the lengthy message and thanks in advance

Stick up the Bosch number that'll be embossed into the upper body of the dizzy.

There'll be other numbers present, the one starting 0 237 02* *** or similar is the one I'm referring to.

Should be able to identify if it's correct to your engine (presuming it's a 1.8 DX, if not add what it is) and the Bosch cap / rotor numbers / leads that correspond to it.

Oh dear that's not good for a classic car garage…
It's best to do those sort of jobs yourself then you know it's right, you don't have to check what they have done and it's saves you money..

Check what type of connection you have with the coil as that's also probably the din type connection and the pin leads won't work very well.

Did the garage fit new spark plugs, rotor arm and dissy cap?
