Dash lights help needed

Post

Hey guys, one of my fascia bulbs was out making it difficult to read the dash at night
So
I’ve removed my dash pod and fitted new bulbs and also the LCD clock which was also gone.

I’ve replaced and tested before putting the everything back together and , I now have an LCD clock, but no dash lights at all when the lights are switched on, also missing is the high beam tell tail.

What could be wrong?

Also, In the H/light switch there is also a bulb which looks to me like it’s long time blown, could this be changed as I am struggling to get it out of the switch.

Cheers

It’s a ‘91 Cabrio

Update, I’ve cleaned the H/light switch terminals etc and now have one side illuminations, which was working before, the speedo side still not, and I have the high beam telltale although it looks to me a little dim

So now all I’m missing is speedo illumination and H/light Switch illumination

Whenever I had the cluster out, I changed all 3 bulbs, as a out of hand thing.  Also if you take the mylar off the back where the lights are you can remove the cover and either clean and polish the green film or remove it.
To replace it just use a hot knife to melt the cover in place.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Thanks Bri - I’ve changed all the bulbs but still have no light for the speedometer - so I’m assuming it’s a circuitry issue

Measure the voltages at the bulb connections on the Mylar, and then back up to the plug to see that you are getting 12V+DC to the pins.  It is very easy to fry the fuse for the lamps in the cabin.

Yours is a 91, the cluster on all my 90's was Motometer, not VDO.  You have Plumped the connector (main) with a piece of electrical tape under the mylar pin side of the plastic?
