Can casing be welded

Have a7g gearbox ,low mileage,no problem except a fine crack on diff casing.took box out as had small leak and needed to top up gearbox oil about 200 mls / 1000 miles. Can i get casing welded  rather than use epoxy product?

If it is cracked it is most likely due to a diff pin coming out, get it rebuilt and replace the casing or repair while it is apart.
