Help identifying part or how to repair
Hi, Just had the soft top taken off for a rear end respray and new soft top. Found a rust issue above the fuel filler cap where the cable holding the soft top the top of the side panel. Looks like a separate part that runs around the rear? Looks like it has been bodged with filler previously. Can't seem to find it online. Is it easy to repair?

Grinding, Sanding, priming, and Painting are all in your future. If you don't have the skills then you are best to take it to a Auto body shop.
If it is surface rust then doing it your self is easy, but if the rust is deep and metal has to be replaced, then you are better served by letting professionals do it.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Thanks. Body shop it is. Is there a replacement part for the lip at the top as it appears to be separate to the side panel?

Convertible roof meets side panel - Rust issue
Any body shop will fabricate a piece to go in there - no need for a new panel, even if they are available. Have a good look at the area up under the wheel arch around where the damper top Mount is attached - it’s a favourite golf rust zone and structural too.
