brakes

Post

i have a few queiries with brakes.
first off my servo/ master cylinder identification- smaller servo but cylinder has 6 outputs , i have 2 brake light switches fitted but not used & one of the brake lines  rubbing on airbox (DX) 2 underneath with cylinders inline.

now ive bought a 9" servo ( with abs sensor) & i believe 22.2mm cylinder- but its not like any ive seen.
it only has 2 outputs, one on the side & another underside. it also has a bleed nipple @ the end?

can anyone confirm this is usuable &/or what its from?

also 256mm brakes- what calipers can i use that are available ? as not alot of 90's vauxhalls in scrap yards.

Actually i think most 90,s vauxhalls are in scrapyards.  I dont know about any other types fitting but if wanting to keep vw its the caliper carriers that are hard to find, expensive when they do crop up..

A pair of scirrocco 16v carriers on ebay, just right for 256 mm brakes,   £125 ish.   nothing to do with me..

anyone got any info on this master cylinder?
its all fitted & working but its an odd one…
bolt holes for master to servo are not horizonal…so common cylinder wont fit level.
and as i say only 2 outputs and a bleed nipple on end of cylinder….

was sold to me as corrado abs

Have you tried running the part number for the M/C?

You can use a 2 port M/C you'll just need to install dome splitters to get the 4 lines you need to connect to the brake lines.

You can then either install some more splitters to run the brake light switch or go and use an electric one mounted to the steering column. However you'll need to make a bracket.

256 calipers are back on ebay!

I bought these to replace mine  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Caliper-Set-Caliper-Thumb-Saddle-Front-Left-Right-for-Audi-100-C3-Coupe/143091396472?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

However the carriers are for non vented discs. I'm sure with some carful cutting they could be made to fit vented discs. But they do also list many other types for Audis so there might be the ones needed for vented discs available.

Otherwise I have some calipers that need a re-furb for sale and I have carriers for non vented discs

there is no part numbers on the m/c
i fitted 2x T pieces and switch was already on pedal.
took ages to bleed … but eventually got it to work.
hope i never have to replace it

Home built power bleeders make easy work of bleeding brakes, and or replacing parts.

Google has a plethora of Vids, and things.

Here is my ho-made one that I used a 2 garden quart sprayer to build….

My Pasta Sauce collection jar.

The Valve stem is to verify that I don't have over 14 psi in the tank…..

Makes easy time of swapping parts over, or flushing out the old fluid for new.
