Brake Reservoir for 9" Servo upgrade.

Post

Hi im doing the MC and servo upgrade to my MK1 from the how to guide on this site. I have the 9" Servo from a MK2 16V and a new 4 port MC 22mm and the T pipes, however want to be sure I get the right reservoir as they seem pricey these days. Could someone point me to the right one on ebay/ another site or the right part number please that works for this brake upgrade as im told my old one wont fit due  to the nipple spacing!

Appreciate all the help.

I used one from a MK2 16V, obviously that fits as that's what was originally fitted to the MK2 16V. Unless your 22mm master cylinder is from something else?

Do you have the part number or pic please as there seem to be few different ones on ebay for mk2. But none state if 8v or 16v

Measure the distance between thw mounts and get something from a breakers that fits.

Thats what I did. I initially wanted a different shape one as the intended reservoir is a bit ugly but found that most cars use the same one it just depends if they have a take off for hydraulic clutch or not.

I got mine from a lupo for a fiver and mounted it back to front for clearance

What really Galls or frosts my icing is they want 29 bucks or less for the MC, but 55-70 for the res, ITs PLASTIC…

Hi, I've been informed by one of my friends that a reservoir from a Volvo 440 fits the 16v MC.  He had one on his MK1 a few years back.

Here's one that's on the bay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-440-Fits-1991-Brake-Fluid-Tank-Bottle-Reservoir-W-Cap-OEM/223072165098?hash=item33f0231cea:g:xx8AAOSw37tV~A4K

Hope this helps!

get down local scrappy. mk3 golf, polo, lupo, seat, caddy etc up to mid 00s will pretty much all have what you need. if car has hydro clutch you just need to cap off the pipe from the top.

it should look like this:
