Brake pedal return spring?????

Can anyone show me a decent photo of the return spring in position where the pedal attaches to the steering column????? I THOUGHT! the spring was to the left side of the pedal - NOT the right side as shown in this diagram?????? Puzzled.

No Ian, I can't ignore the spring - is that a proper bodge?!? Or does it stop you being over-zealous with the loud pedal?

It's cos the bile carbs return spring isn't man enough to pull the accelerator pedal back up all the way.
Without it the ratio of the carb twist to the throw on the pedal was all wrong. Amazing what a couple of mm helps with!
