The old master cylinder has pressure sensors

Hi,

Old MK1 Master Cylinder.jpg I have read the very good guide

https://gbr01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fvwgolfmk1.org.uk%2Findex.php%3Fpage%3Dcedi%26type%3Dmisc%26id%3D28&data=05%7C02%7Cblumbers%40waveedu.org%7Cc98e08c49e4a4c43639c08dbfa21101b%7Caf7ba1179cdc441881bbd0f9780fe1ef%7C0%7C0%7C638378792126559429%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=IZ%2BHhL4KVOiMBuU2e%2BHmPXkJa%2FWxpHLdFjwJcmHHNys%3D&reserved=0

and dug out the Mk2 16v Brake upgrade kit I bought a year ago… my garage was fitting it today (along with EBC disks/Pads/New Bearings)… but the they hit a couple of issues not in the guide ( [1] I have sourced a new brake fluid reservoir) but [2] the original master cylinder has brake pressure sensors (I think) do these need to be kept as they were not on the upgraded master cylinder I bought.  I have included a photo.

Thanks for any help

Those aren't pressure sensors.  They are pressure regulators (proportional Valves)  so that rear drum brakes can't LOCK up under stomp it to the floor conditions.

Over here on this side of the pond, the valves are located on opposite locations of the MC on the Cabriolets that I drove.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
