I cannot find a replacement alternator for the life of me when searching for the VW part number, so I figure the Bosch one might give me more success.

I'll take a look at those links. I think Ill have to convert the loom over to the bolt on connectors as 3 pin ones are non existent or stupid money.

Although if you take your old one to a Automotive Electrical shop they can usually re-build yours relatively cheaper and better than new.
