Boot Lock

Stuck in

The barrel lock for the boot won’t unlock. The barrel is in the horizontal position and is depressed into the boot. I can’t get it to unlatch and unlock. The biggest problem with this, I can’t drop the rear seat back to get into the boot because the safety lock is under the boot door 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😫 Anyone got any pearls of wisdom please? Supposed to be going on holiday and taking it with us tomorrow ☹️

Boot Lock

Might be worth trying spraying a bit of WD40 into the lock and working it locked and unlocked, pushing in again a few times to see if something’s sticky.
I assume this is on a cabrio is it?

Take some spray lube WD-40, Insert the tube in to the lock spay insert key a few times and re-spray.
The Spray the Button part of the assembly between the seal and the button, work the button.

Second way, remove the parcel shelf, You don't need to lower the seat back just pop it up off the clips then work it out.  You can then get to the cardboard cover that is over the locking mech,  Could be the spring is out of position or the clip on the rod.

Once you get the cover off then push the rod down.
Boot should open.

Briano1234 , I've read a couple of your posts and they have been so useful.
My panic is over for now though, it took quite a bit of WD40 and patients.
I think it happened due to me not unlocking the boot correctly. The barrel on mine appears vertical when its locked. As I turned the key to the horizontal position to unlock, I pushed the barrel in at the same time. It must have managed to trap something.
I have removed the panel that Briano1234 showed and there is some play in the lock.
