Bonnet catch cable fouling front panel

Post

Just putting my Cabby back together and on the bonnet catch and the cable fouls the front panel:

There's a hole there in the panel. Is this meant to be utilised? The only ways I can see is to dremel the whole corner of the panel out or drill the hole bigger.

What are people's thoughts?

Thanks

No that hole is used the cable runs only through the one braces and is held in check by a clip

Then runs over to the latch or catch through  brace.

So it appears that the hole isn't big enough… I would drill it big enough to pass the ball on the cable as it is larger than the cable.

Done using a dremel to shape it. Now treating the bare metal before a little bit of paint.

One more thing, have you got a picture of the clip that holds it to the slam panel? I've probably got it in my boxes of bits.
