AC Evaporator and AC Controls Thermostat

So i rebuilt my AC system all was going great, new evaporator, new heater matrix, new seal for the flaps…… was awesome put it all back together and then noticed the new evaporator coil doesnt have a tube for me to insert the AC controls thermostat line into? Whats the deal here? Is there a work around for this? First picture show old unit with tube hole coming towards you, middle right of photo for the thermostat needle to slide into. second photo shows new evaporator coil and yeah well no idea what to do with the needle now?  IMG_20211126_162943.jpg IMG_20211126_162915.jpg

You can put the Thermo probe in either the front or the rear of the evap.  The probe is basically in the side next to the evap.  you can also use a piece of Brass hobby tube, and with small tie-wraps tie wrap the tube to the core, then you can insert your probe tube in to that.

so the thermostat doesnt need to be "inside" the evap coil? so basically as long as its touching the coil somewhere it will still work right?

Yes, the original one was attached to the exterior of it but it was in a brass tube.
