Can't find the correct connector
I have a 1988 all white GTI. I recently replaced the radiator fan, used a 2 speed fan unit even though I'm on a single speed it was good price and it works great, It all runs fine… however I need the correct connector rather than the two spade connectors I've used, can anyone please help me
Also I have had the car for a few months … what is this ? What should it look like as this can't be right from the clutch ??

Sorry - can't help on the fan connector.
The 2nd pic looks like a bodged re-enforcing plate for where the clutch cable comes through the bulkhead.

Paceman thanks for the correct terminology. heritage and classic both out of stock but have found the bulkhead repair plate at GSF Peterborough for £16.68 inc VAT so it's a no brained to replace
Thank you

I think I have a spare loom for 2 speed fan, you will need a 3 pin fan switch in you rad for it to work

Thanks Sporttrucker that could be the way I have to go to resolve the issue. I tried heritage and classic vw and no one has just the connector it looks like to resolve it I need the 3 pin Thermostat switch in the bottom of the radiator and to replace the loom

IF you get to a breakers, you may find the 3pin 2 speed connector to the fan, there were 2 different styles of connectors that I know of to the fan.
If you want 2 speed functionality, then you would need the 3 pin switch on the radiator, of you don't then what you have is fine… Just get the new connector and only use the 2 pins that you are now and leave the 3rd alone.
They used the same motor on Golfs, Passats, Jettas…
