How old is the petrol and how much does it show on the gauge first of all?

If not done so already, get in it and take it for a blast.
Motorway is the best, push it in order to clean of the cräp out of it.
30 to 40 miles should do it, then see how it behaves at low revs.

Check the dizzy cap it may have a hairline crack in it which can be noticeable at low revs. Clean the rotor arm while you are in there.

That could be your problem if you have a rusty/holey filler neck, blocked fuel line or fuel pick up, lift pump in tank dead?

DO THE FILLER NECK NOW, if you don't and water etc gets into the fuel tank then into the injection system it can be costly to fix and will cause allsorts of problems.

As the cars been standing for 12 months stick in some new oil as 12 months or 10000 miles is all it lasts, check coolant is still OK, blue coolant any lasts 2 years before it needs to be changed.
