Xbox live help please
Im planning on using my 1 month free trial for xbox live, before i get the proper version, and i want GRID so thats a few quid
anyway, i want to know which is the best way of getting a connection:
spending ?50 on a wireless adapter.. the easy option..
spending about a tenner on a load of RJ45 cable to the router.. the cheap option..
or
use a crossover cable and use my Mac's internet connection and use a sharing bridge to use the internet connection. but risk a slower feed: the tidy option..
im stuck

My Xbox wireless adaptor is rubbish, keeps losing connection and is pretty slow. Your best bet is to run the cable straight to the back of the set and when you're not using it unplug it and hide it up somewhere.

Countering the above my wireless adapter is superb and appears to be the exact opposite. Has never dropped a connection and a piece of pish to set up

well the distance my cable would have to go (near on 20 metres) that isnt really an option

well then wireless adapter all the way, as 20 metres of wire is a bit much and also running threw your mac like you said might give you a slow and bad connection, which in the long run will do your head in when your playing

:ref the wireless adapter, there has been very mixed views about these.. but they mostly swing out of favour of them… many people report unexpected connection drops.. jerky playback.. tbh im better off spending a day sorting wire out 8) a lot cheaper aswell.. ?55 for an adapter 8O
thanks for your help guys

Get a cat6 cable. Cat 5e is old now Sure you'll have a wire about, but you'll always get a consistant speed and connection.
