Might not like it but it's what this country was built on, free speech!

Ultimately they're looking for column inches and air time so for them mission accomplished and the fact it's made it onto this site which has traditionally not fostered political discussion says it all.

My view is to ignore them, you'll never win a discussion with an extremist of any persuasion, no point in demonising.

Let them march. if no-one from the press turns up they'll achieve nothing!

thing is they will go, and the press will announce it to the world as they already have.

We tend to forget it's the press who form peoples ideas and opinions a lot of the time, the Nazi's gained a following because the bad things the brown-shirts did were always talked about. then people who may be interested started looking into it.  It's the snowball effect.

Ignore it and it will go away. Unfortunately we don't ignore it.

Pretty much yes. As to the Nazis they used techniques employed by regimes before and after and we're not immune to using these tactics ourselves. They simply dehumanised the 'enemy', in doing so it makes hating them so much easier.

I  have a mate who is a Para Regiment veteran, and the Para Regiment vets and that part of the British legion have told the police if they allow this march they will bring coach loads of vets to surround the village and block the roads, I have little doubt that this would happen as the Para veterans are a very devoted bunch to each other, basically its the police's call only they can stop it

i feel the only reason this march is being held is to breed hatred and score a political and ideological points its as simple as that.

I even understand the right to march if they are doing it in the name of peace but Wootton Bassett is not the place to do it, march to Downing street would serve them better.

The folk at Wootton Bassett do what they do out of respect and not to prove a political point or to breed war mongering or hatred.

Dont ask what your club can do for you, but what can you do for your club?

I do worry that this cold lead to great racial unrest. I also worry that if this march goes ahead, for every protester there will be a thug waving a broken bottle!
