who would fly fo south africa and buy brand new a VW citi 1.6i (A Golf mk1 to us brits). in SA they are 98'500.00 rand which is £8,771.58.
once you brought your NEW mk1 drive it the 8300 miles from johannesburg back to the uk through africa and europe.through 16 countries
i would if i had the money

if had the cash i would!!!!!fly back tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as from zimbabwe(rhodesia)  would love to have one or two more a tin top for winter and my clipper for summer but the sayz no lol hope later this year

I would.

I like the look of the last run out models from what Ive seen in VW Driver.

It would be a long drive though and you'd have to park it up for the rest of the year to even out the mileage!!!!

looked all ways,plotted the route (very very long drive through dodgy places  :| ) insurance would be a nightmare,as for the costs,tried to get one shipped over,whata game that was,this was in 1999,gave up in the end,went out a few weeks later brought the bargain pages one friday whilst i was off work,there it was 1994 citigolf for sale,2 miles from my front door,was driving it home within the hour,hows that for wierd luck? had it nearly 10 years now  :wink:
