What Golf have I got?

Hi. I bought a VW Golf before Christmas. It says on he MOT certificates that it is a 4+E Model. I am unsure if this is a MK1 or not :dontknow:

What year is it? 4+E afaik is just the gearbox basically but was then used to derive a car!

as above, wat year is it? if its a Breg or above its a mk2, anything older and its a mk1
