what dos "bump" mean?

ive seen ppl on here write bump on there forum posts and was just wonderin wat it meant? am i bein stupid?lol

Its the phrase used to ask for a response to a post or thread.

It stands for bring up my post, its like a nudge and will bring your post up to the top of new posts.
