what deos the the KARMANN stand for

i no to you golf guys this is probly a stupid question , but i,ve got a mk1 golf convert karmann , and i was wondering what the karmann actually stands for

Karmann are a coach builder, much like Ghia or Zegato.  They build the Scirocco, Corrado and indeed the soft top Mk1 Golf.

No.  Karmann badged cars were built it a completely different factory by Karmann (not Volkswagen).  They do all the low volume nice stuff because they are a bit special when it comes to screwing them together.

does that mean its worth more ??? then .

All Golf Cabriolets were built by Karmann whether they have the badge or not.  Same with Corrados.

Brand new, a hard to Golf 1.5 cost less than a soft top convertable Golf 1.5 - for obvious reasons.
