What colour for a Mk1 respray?

What colour do you think would look best on a Mk1? (I know some are similar… that's why I'm taking a vote!).


Arctic Silver


Azure Blue


Bayside Blue


Dark Silver


GT Silver


Imperial Blue

you seem to have missed off one very important colour………………………… pink with yellow spots……….

 ummm seriously though i went for platinum grey, used to have a 205gti in gunmetal grey which is very similar and it was an awesome colour!  8)

i'm not sure dark blue works on a mk1, looks to 'modded'

the platinum grey is nice though. similar to the car in golf+ this month and 'carbs4ever'  car.

I quite like Atlas grey (LP7V) as seen on mk2's. Quite a nice dark grey but when the light hits it, it really shines due to being metallic.
Out of those I would go for platinum grey.

Tottally agree, my mk2 is atlas grey, platinum would be top colour for a mk1 if you are keeping an original look, other colours like the blues are more of a modifing look

either of the dark greys/silvers…

i'd go for the the Mini 'Dark Silver', it doesnt look that good on the mini but think i't ook quality on a mk1  8)

Platinum Grey……..helios blue looks good on a mk1, but brighter blues don't suit them

Hmm… tempting, but orange only seems to work on Lambos… can you make a Mk1 look like that?  :notworthy:

personaly id go for a old skool colour, like pastel light blue or yellow. either that or one of the blues.
One day, One day some of the kids from my Neighbourhood carried my mom's  groceries all the way home…do you know why?…it was outa respect!

but they made silver mk1`Gtis!!!!!! i also prefer the old school colours, i had a polar white 78 GLS and it was like an old english white colour, looked really good on a mk1, other than that the bright kermit green an the pastel colours look ace imo :lol:
