What colour?

Having real problems deciding on what colour to have the gti painted, needs to be subtle yet have that wow about it, anyone know of a site with lots of nice examples? or if you have some pics please stick them up

Most of the standard colours still have the wow factor for me. Are you looking for something else? If so, I'm a big fan of a lot of the colours from the air-cooled pallet.

How about dark green like geezers newly painted one (see his post in this chat section). Lhasa green is subtle, but still sets it apart from most other car colours around!  :wink:

If you fancy green, what about the metalic green pearl that the Rivage was done in! Sublte and beautiful in the sun! As is the blue….Ahem!!

I like the Helios blue it changes with the weather, light when bright, dark when…..dark, miserable etc. These cars seem to suit so many colours though…. I once restored a Mk1 mini and couldn't decide so i went to Halfords and bought the 3 most favoured (All original colours for year) and sprayed the wing and checked the colour on the car….. it may cost ?20 before you decided but a complete respray and you don't like it is allot more painful.

 

close call between lhasa green, helios blue or silver.

did mine Lhasa green because it was its original colour , but if i was spraying the whole car i might have been tempted by atlas grey , according to some quick research i did 3 mk1 gti's were made in this colour so it could almost be factory spec . But now mines back i wouldent change it at least now its only one shade of green instead of four .

Blacks the best colour  8)

Want something a little different and standard colours dont realy do it for me, i did consider black (would look good with chrome) but living where i do i would spend all my time washing it trying to keep it clean
