What alternator do I need?

Hi, I have a g reg (1990) 1.8 clipper. I think I have a dead alternator. I just called a parts supplier and he couldn't tell me which one i need. Please can anyone help. Thank you.

Is it 1.8 injection ?

I got mine through eBay easily :-)

any 1.6-1.8 later mk1 or mk2 golf one will be fine, 65amp if asked

thanks chaps, turns out current alternator is now chucking out 11v and my fuse board is badly corroded.
anyone have a fuse board?

Take fuse box out and give it a good soak in wd, clean as much as you can with toothbrush or soft wire tool before you pay out for another
Disconnect battery before you do any work.
See how it goes.
I am a maintenance freak and the fusebox in mine i check yearly, cleaning of dust and give it a good coat of wd40.
No issues with but there again there shouldn't be if i am maintaining it lol

trouble is though if it looks bad on the outside, its probably going to be worse inside

and i really wouldnt trust a fusebox that looks corroded, becasue you just cant see whats going on inside it. though you can split them if you're carefull so it may be worth a go to see if its salvagable. if not, you aint lost owt
