If you google the word ekamei or whatever it says on the spoiler it comes up with something to do with audi…… so could be an old audi part from there 80's vehicles

It's just an aftermarket Kamei rear spoiler, I've seen them on ebay.de a few times before now. The 2 lights are wired into the brake lights.
They aren't worth much as they look a bit naff!

maybe we should lobby vw for funds to build a memorial to the ""unknown spoiler", lay a wreath etc :dontknow:
CAMPAIGN-HELIOS BLUE-POSSIBLY SEEN IT ON CHRIS BARRIES(RIMMER IN RED DWARF) MASSIVE SPEED PROGRAMME?!!!
ERROR: A link was posted here (img) but it appears to be a broken link.

I think if you look hard enough on the full size image, the blue golf on the left hand side of this advert actually has one of these fitted

Very common on the Citi golf in SA, first i have seen them with the brake lights.
They do make it look naff, but the spoiler itself looks the dogs when fitted

I think he's referring to those in the link Kenno posted up Pedders, not to Citi golfs! I think you've got a bit of a complex about Citi Golf haters!

Fair enough about link, but there is a citi on poster also, BUT some of the silly arches spoiler do ruin the mk1, BUT there again everyone has there own opinon and way of how they want their golf to look.
Nothing comlex about it fella, my reply was a simple sense of humour one, thou some do slate citi's as has been discussed on here, but that is mainly due to non knowledge of owning one, which i dare say, get one, they are a cracking mk1 golf, just like the older mk1's, but that is the haters as you call them there issue not mine, i love em and there are reasons thus there are reason's some, like chroming their blocks, some don't, some like cab's some like tintop etc etc.
If it were a case of me biased as i own a citi, i would choose not to help others and work and repair there mk1's
Pete

 and relax, as you say each to their own - I like all varieties and if I don't like something I don't post.
Yours looks spot on and very OEM which is the way I like them best. 8)
Has the OP decided if they are going to fit this then?

Here's the nice version of the Kamei spoiler, it's very similar to the factory spoiler VW fitted to Mk2 Golf GTIs. I think the one in the link works really well with the knitted bog roll cover!

When i had mine, it had 3 clips to go under the window seal so not having to mess about using sealant, BUT it became a pain as it let in water.
Have to admit thou, they do look right on a mk1, wel they do without ass wipe covers
Why for the life, does he/she have that in boot :dontknow:
