Thinkig of selling my Sportline.

Hi All, The sad time may have come for my beloved Car to find a new home as the wife and I are looking to fund a new House. The GTI is not he only thing to go, so is my 79 Camper and my CBR. But needs must.

She is a 91 Sortline, totaly standard, no holes in the parcel shelf or door cards. The interior is in good condition, there is no colapsed bolsters, but the cloth has sagged a bit on the driver seat (but not too bad).  She is totaly solid. no rust anywhere. I replaced the rear beam with a blasted and painted one and new rear shocks last summer, as well as the rear brake lines for goodridge braded ones ( the front is still left to do). She had a full glass out respray in the Summer of 2010, and still looks stunning.

All I am after is a guide price that I should be asking for and if there is any intrest.

I think its worth £1000 and you should sell it to me for that no questions asked ;-) :-)

We paid £2500 for the wifes L Reg Red Sportline just over 3 years ago with 93K on the clock. It needed a respray due to a small dent in the rear quarter and lacquer peel on the bonnet ( not sure why it was lacquered though) and the wheels refurbed. But apart from that it was in a similar condition to yours.

Someone after a mint one would spot that the Sportline decals, stone guard decals and Black A pillar trims are missing.

Is the tonneau cover still present ?

I'd say you should get 3 to 3.5K for it - not the best time of year to sell though !!

I have no service history with it, but I have replaced the clutch and gearbox last summer, I still have the Karman badges, and the sportline stickers and stone guards, just not put them on.  it has new outer scraper seals from Volkswaerhaouse. new winter tyres, a spare set of silver BBS with summer tyres (still alot of ware left).  126000 miles, new carpets form newtons (agian fitted after respray).
Cant remember how many owners, as it is not registered in the UK at the moment. No tax or test for the same reason. New petrol tank and filler neck, new battery, and a jamex exhaust system. 4 into 1 manifold (but I wish I hadnt fitted it as it does sound tinny when cold).

Lol, just twigged who you are!! You have been to my workshop, It was in the body shop when you were over, think you were posted at bicester at the time.
