strictly speaking no.
it's a offence to drive a vehicle without a displayed vehicle license disc. i got pulled and almost fined for riding the bike with the disc in my pocket because the holder broke whilst out.

Thats what i thought but sure i saw somewhere the law was changing to give you 4 days grace. If this is right that law probably has not come into play yet.
The thing is they can check on their computers these days whether you have tax, mot or insurance so this shouldnt be a problem really.
Have we not got a resident fascist on this site?

How does that work? You asked a question, he responded, and you accused him of being a fascist because you didn't like the answer?

He's got a smiley face at the end of the line paul… if the guy takes offence then he will say so… if not then he accepts it as banter!?!?

I thought that was referring to the fact that Top Of The Range is a copper?
I'd be surprised if they didn't look it up there & then. Most traffic cars had laptops in them and can check all the vehicle details, surely valid tax would be something they could check?
I'd be surprised if plod in an astra pulled you over for your Tax Disc.

Just tape it in there for the time being or something? Seems a bit needless to risk getting pulled for the sake of not liking a tax disc holder

My mum is 'ex filth'……….shes says….. 'traffic cops will not pull you over due to being able to scan you reg' but if a bobby on the beat spots a car with no tax disk he can report you to the DVLA because it is a DVLA matter not a police matter. but she also says its an offence not to display your tax disk………so who knows lol its a bit of a grey area, she says keep your tax disk in your car at all times. If you are just not displying it for some random reason ?30 fine she says
Hope this helps doubt it will :?

haha facist. nope i'm a buddist does that count.
law on 4 days grace is not regarding displaying it is regarding purchasing. if your car is on a public highway it requires a vaild disc to be displayed.

If you tax'd it today you would lose a month worths near enough, have you had the car sorn and thats why your taxing today? if not why not pay for the road tax approx 2-3 week before its due to run out, the nothing to worry about. as you have disc already to display
Mine runs out end of this month, ordered online 2 days ago and new 12 month one is here today.
Same with car insurance, why do some people leave it till their current one is due to run out with last few days to go, this causes problems to the motorist as the dvla database/PNC takes upto 2 weeks to be updated thus comes up on their ANPR as no insurance, then you've got the hassle to proove your insured when pulled by police saying you have no insurance and ready to tow your car away.
Simply dont give a copper a reason, nothing to worry about
Talk of road tax, some T*** decided he'd park his land rover on our street for past week whilst he worked across the road on building site, went over to speak to him as site owner also told them not to park also as it restricts our space gettign in/out of street.
But noticed his tax was out since june, anyway walking down to shop and low and behold a pair of beautiful police horses were there, females coppers weren't bad either, damn there gettign beter looking or am i getting older lol.
Anyway asked them about it, the went over to check, not long later bye bye land rover, worker was well peeved shall we say, good result.
Like i say if you dont give reason, then nothing shall come of it, just enjoy your drive
