I would say that was far too high it all depends on your budget though. Look at auto trader, practical classic car mag, ebay, on this forum club gti etc. You can buy a very good example for 3000 or you could buy one needing a bit of work for £250 it all depends on weather your willing to travel a bit further and bide you time till one comes up close enough. Try and haggel for anywork needing done to cover the cost.
