taking the plunge!

seen a few mark 1's gti's in my search so far, 1 skip with wheels,  1 black gt1 with paint snots everywhere, drawn to a blue gti with rusty door shuts and rear vallance loose from tyre well, but overall pretty good £3ooo mark dose that seem reasonable? it will need the door shuts looked at plus rust under the rear light clusters; could be expensive?

As Wooders said, sounds too dear considering the rust you mention, best to check around the cars for sale area and ebay etc to get a better feel for what you can get for your money

Good to see your still alive Wooders, keeping well I hope

For 3k you should be looking at a very good rust free series GTi. Well i personally would think so but then people who want to sell often start pricing quite high to get as much as possible

lol i got my one for £30 with mot an tax.

I would say that was far too high it all depends on your budget though. Look at auto trader, practical classic car mag, ebay, on this forum club gti etc. You can buy a very good example for 3000 or you could buy one needing a bit of work for £250 it all depends on weather your willing to travel a bit further and bide you time till one comes up close enough. Try and haggel for anywork needing done to cover the cost.

Welcome along thats my two pence
