Suitable MK1 for my mate?

My mate Gary wants to buy a mk1….. what do you guys think of this he found on evilbay? (anybody on here own it?) :dontknow:

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

Looks very clean. I've told him viewing is a must and I'll go and have a look with him. He's new to mk1's and needs steering round the pitfalls.

I'm always dubious about buying cars of ebay but this one looks like it could be worth a look.

Come on Gaz get registered!

Looks like a cracker - well worth a look…

I wouldn't say Ebay is a bad place, its the idiots on it that make you dubious! But it does happen in the papers too.
I remember going to look at a Mk1 that was in the local free ads with my brother. Described as "Mint" "Excellent condition". It ws the biggest pile of poo I had ever seen! Cavalier seats welded to the floor, Chassis number completely missing - cut out from the scuttle, awful paint work…etc…
I could not believe the guy had the gall to advertise it like that and expect people to take him seriously after driving miles to see it!

If I had the money I'd look at this one - looks very tidy!

after only getting one on the weekend be prepared to be disappointed!

I "only" looked at 4, 2 of which were v expensive from a specialist and i really wasn't that impressed with them, one which was advertised in a mag which i nearly bought, but found a v nasty crack in a v nast place to have a crack, then i looked at the one i bought, which was a good price and in good condition..

good luck!

I'm sure this was put up for sale on this site for ?3,500 only a few weeks ago. Then he said he'd put it on ebay. I watched how that went and there wasn't much interest shown. Don't know why as it certainly looks a good clean car.
