someone with car knowledge needed to check over my car
I'm looking for someone with a fair amount of car knowledge just to look over my car if anyone is nearby or driving past the area, I'm in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.
Basically issues are;
1. engine temp gauge at max as soon as engine turned on and red l.e.d flashing and idle very lumpy (revs at 450 and almost stalls) until run for 10 mins, then idle stable at around 950-I'm thinking it may be engine temp sensor?
2. Electric hood doesn't go back but can hear motor going (suspect mechanism come undone somewhere) ?
3. Fuel pump doesn't turn on, unless voltage supplied straight to it with separe wire from fusebox to pump-suspect relay or wiring issue?
Any advice would be really appreciated, or if someone had a spare half an hour and lives nearby by or was driving close to the area that would be even better.
I must admit, I haven't had a chance to fully look yet as dark when I finish work and only bought the car on tuesday.
Thank you very much,
Matt

Only bit of advice i can give is on the roof.
Have you checked the motor in the boot.
The valve key might be slightly turned on the motor like mine was when i had a new roof fitted.
They had to open the valve to open the hood by hand but they couldnt have closed it all the way.
I could hear the motor but nothing happend.
Closed the valve all the way and it was all good.
Hope that helps.

coolant temp sensor will be the probable cause of the led flashing.
depending on your engine, the running could be mixture, cold start related.
here for a good time, not a long time
