i was parked in what i considered to be a safe spot in the road yesterday as i knew we were due snow and there are some idiots on the road.
a guy in a new range rover of all things scraped down the side of my baby and has taken a gouge out of my rear drivers side wheel arch trim.
i need a new black one for a g reg 89 clipper. anyone know of the best place.?

i am not sure what you mean talizman. it is a mk1.
i have his details, i think he will pay rather than his insurance. i just need to get quotes for the work. to be honest he was lucky it is just a small gouge out of the plastic arch. he didn't touch any other part of the car.

poust up an ad in the "wanted" section and check out the "breaking a car" section mate you should be able to find what you want.
remember if you want to go by insurance I think you gotta report asap
someone hit our mk4 and we gave them the option to pay cash for repairs and she would not speak to us, only pass phone to her brother who would chat daffodils about why they shouldn't pay just trying to bide time because I think if you don't report after so long they can contest

here we go
IN ANOTHER attempt to clamp down on inflated and fraudulent claims, the Motor Insurance Taskforce has come up with a new rule: Motorists who file third-party insurance claims after an accident now have to contact the other driver's insurer before getting their vehicle repaired. The other driver's insurer will have 48 hours to inspect the damaged vehicle. If it fails to do so, it automatically waives its right to contest the claim.
The rule applies only to third-party claims, under which a motorist claims against another person's insurance policy, rather than his own. With this rule, waiting time before repairs can take place is expected to be cut as it forces the other party's insurer to inspect the vehicle promptly.
good luck
