Shameless TV plug

Well, for exactly a year now, I've been working like a dog on my latest project, and it's meant I've missed the annual gathering (which would have been my first) and a couple of Volksfests (but not the Bristol one!).  But now it's finally got a broadcast date, so I thought I'd put a shameless plug on here.  It's called The Lock Up, and it starts on BBC3 at 8.30pm on February 4th for 8 weeks/episodes.  There are also plans afoot to show it later on BBC1 too.  



It's about the working life of Humberside Police's custody suite, where prisoners are detained while they're investigated for crimes ranging from shoplifting to murder.  I warn you now though, it's not for the faint hearted.  It's comic in places, but there are stories throughout about juvenile offending, drug addiction, attempted suicide and even the riot police being called in to pacify a 'dirty protester'.  I don't know how they do their job, fair dos to the staff that work there.

Despite that, please watch and I hope you enjoy!

Love these sort of programmes!, thanks for the tip, really enjoyed "Coppers" shown last year (ITV I think).
What was your involvement in the programme?, director/cameraman, production etc..?.

Nice one, hope you like.  It's a similar kind of humour to Coppers, but the access is better in this one.  

I was producer/director and cameraman.

Is your mk1 in any of the shots!?!?!?!?!?!  If not could you squeeze it on set in a car park scene so we can have a butchers  :mrgreen:

Heh.  I did try to get it in the programme, but filming was in Hull and I wasn't going to take it all the way up there just to get it on camera!

Chris, the opening pre-title story should make you laugh if that's your kind of humour.  I won't say any more….

Juss, i shall get it onto my SKY+ recording list :-) . After talking to you about it at the last Bristol meet i look forward to watching it.

Reference the AGM you coming up this year, i missed last year, but with a big Bristol following and more links with Wales and the Southwest we should be able to arrange a pritty big convoy this year. Also you doing ultimate dubs, all being well my cabby is on stand, but they are yet to confirm whether we are inside or out.

I will get round to arranging another Bristol meet for Feb all being well, although i will be in daily as not taxin cab till march, also need to get hold of Jamie as he has gone quiet , see ya soon mate

We did have a case about one guy who tried to bring down a police helicopter with a laser pen.  It didn't make the programme, but I though that might interest you.
