Series2 Register online

…as above!

I haven't put together the admin screens for the register owners yet, but will do so asap.

Cheers,

Drew, is this correct:
"…..'Series 2' or 'Big Light/Big Dash' tintop Mk1 Golfs. Cars in this register must be 1981-1984 models, or X-reg onwards."…

Want to put my old car in, although now scrapped…….
It was W - reg, but had the late dash and big rear lights:

OKN 770W
Chassis number WVWZZZ17BW268520.
Engine No. JB460986
1457cc
First Reg. 01.03.81

Cheers…

IMO I would remove reference to registration letters, they are not relevant as vehicles can be registered at any time and therefore be misleading. It is only the Model Year code in the VIN that is important.

A W reg signifies cars registered from 1st August 1980 to 31st July 1981, so this is the first possible letter for Series 2 Golfs in any case, not an X reg.

Maybe there should be images of the different dash/light versions to explain to those who are "not sure".....some people, and no disrespect to them, may not be so knowledgeable about these...?? I admit that I did not know anything about this until after owning the car for over a year !!!!

I've added in the 'chassis code'  to that register. There was a problem with the database code for the model, so I'm going to reset it and start it again.

Dubboy, do you have a list of the colours available for the series2s? Are they different to the series1 cars?

Cheers,

Drew.

Drew,

Yes, they are different. I will supply you the list the same way as for the Series 1.

There's currently 11 cars listed in the Series 2 register but when you click on it, you don't go to the list. Is this right?

Hi
having just added my series 2 to the register , does any one no a way of finding the exact date of manufacture with out having to write to VW ?
Does the chassis number help ? is there an online web site ? Cheers

This site Volkswagen/Audi VIN Interpretation gives some info on VW vin numbers, but only gives year of manufacture. Refers to last digits being a sequential production number, but does not go into detail.

Chassis number just gives Model Year. If your car is fitted with the production plate (small plate to the right of the VIN plate) or production sticker (around the front panel/radiator) it is possible to find the exact production date.
