Saw a new Scirocco on the road today...

…and liked it !

Checked one out in black down the local VW garage and thought it was nice, saw an electric blue one on the move later in the day and thought it was sweet. I want one.

Yeah - too pricey for me i'm afraid - they're nice though, I can certainly see the appeal, I think VW have done quite well with this car, granted it aint the original, nor will it come anywhere near to a Corrado, but yeah, I like it !

I know its a lot but to put it in perspective, for the price of the bottom end Phaeton you could buy a Scirocco with all the bells and whistles AND a Polo SE and still have a bit of change. for the price of the top spec Phaeton you could buy a top spec Scirocco and a top spec Golf GTI  and a Polo GTI!!!

Sorry got carried away with the car config toy on the vw web site!!

yeah i've noticed that cars just don't have any soul anymore. my cars like a person to me gotta tell it to behave, caress it feed it its special juice…….. new cars are just lumps of metal with wheels.  :banghead:

Saw a white on display at e38, was at my local VW dealership the other day and asked for a tour of their blue demo and I was very impressed! The interior is very well specced for a ?20k car; almost porsche level of quality i'd say!!! Well done VW for turning themselves around from making boring, uninspiring cars to this 8)

Not that im really taken by modern cars TBH, but if I was in the market for a ?20k hot hatch… But then again, the megane R26R would be a tough one to ignore

the new rocco doesnt look too dissimilar to an A3 from the rear corner.

You can still buy cars with personality. its just that they cost an absolute fortune!

Cars of a certain era always look similar, Model T and vintage austins and Morris's for example. These days with all the legal requirements (lighting, height of bumpers, CO2 emissions etc) and requirements of customers (economy, safety etc) mean that all manufacturers end up designing similar cars.

In the 70s the front of rwd Escorts and sporty Fiestas looked like the front of a MK1 and cars like the Talbot Horizon (remember them?) were almost the same shape a MK1 when everyone want a new fangled hatch back.

Practically every sporty car also had tartan pattern seats….. just like an S1 MK1 GTI

1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.
