Rumors of the STIG'S identity..

Dont know if this has been posted previously but a guy called Ben Collins is rumored to be the stig. So it says here anyway

I'd heard that before as well, it leaked out via a mate of a mate of amate who works in the industry…

I think "the stig" has been rumoured to be just about EVERY decent sports car or F1 driver there is!!!

when top gear done the Africa trip (with Richard Hamiltons "Oliver") i can quite honestly say the stig was definately black or asian!!!  either Lewis Hamilton or Karthakayen (sp)

I think Mark Webber and Damon Hill have had a spate as the stig too

Text the question to 63336 or 36663!? not sure which one it is lol, and it tells you the answer. Sorry to dissapoint people, and ruin the suprise, but i was also informed that its ben collins, former nascar driver i think  :wink:

The south African trip used a 'local' stig, just like when they did the trip to USA they used a fat 'american' stig….

don't care who he is really i would like to know how he sees out off a simpson lid though. i haven't found a worse helmet to try and ride in never mind drive

I always had a simpson lid on my bikes, had the old bandit ones as well, its fine for streetfighters/upright riding, but no good on sports bikes when you want to get down on the tank, had an Arai for that

Don't thick it will be him as he would have to do right hand turns on the Top Gear track instead of all left ones he does in nascar and this would cause him confusion.

i have a caberg for that which looks more than menecing enough even if the name does sound like a lettuce.[/code:1]

the original one was Perry McCarthy, but they have a lot of 'stigs', some of them are test drivers from the company who's cars are being tested, but they do have a normal 'stig' and thats Ben Collins.

he's even mentioned in the health and safety report into the Richard Hamond jet car crash, chapter 36…
