rules on bumpers for mot ???

do you need to have bumpers for mot ? i have no rear bumper, and my front bumper has the plastic cover taken off . will this pass mot any ideas ?

it will pass the mot with no bumpers at all but if you have still got part of the front bumper and it has sharp edges then that could be a fail. also the brackets must be removed.

as above, your probably better off removing the front bumper, abd fitting different indicators.

removed bumpers are not a reason for rejection"fail" even if there are sharp edges exposed. the fail criteria is excessive corrosion or accident damage exposing sharp edges or projections,but as the mot is to section 45 of the road traffic act,the beggars"police" can get you under constuction and use regulations which is why your car would pass with a insecure battery but see you recieve 3 penalty points from the beggers"police" if they prosecute,by the way been an mot tester for a wee while noo!!19 years
