Replacing fuel filler neck?

I have asked this question on another thread but……………………….need to know

How difficult is replacing the fuel filler neck? (MK1) Is it a DIY on your driveway job or not? Will it have wrecked the fuel injection system or is it a case if it runs it 'might' be OK? Also how much are they? and where from?

I have one fuel filler left I think.

Reasonably easy job if the tank does not have loadsa fuel in it!

must be easy , i managed it ! tips i were told change it when fuel needle is in in the red, disconnect at the tank end first and cover with cloth to stop dirt getting in the tank. when i had removed the filler neck i cleaned under the panel and treated with body underseal while i had chance. 3 scews at top, 1 bolt in middle and 1 jubilee clip at bottom...
