Rear Golf GTI Badge

What's a new genuine rear Golf GTI badge worth? Has anyone ever got one? And why are they not listed in ETKA?

i think the difference is the genuine ones have small lugs on the back that slot into holes on the back of the car and the others dont. they just stick on.

simac- the badges are listed in ETKA, just need to do a search for part number when in the MK1 Golf Body section. It will come up, just a pain in the rear to find. The original part gets listed as dropped with a replacement (few more numbers ont he end)
the difference is as Wokey said that the VAG ones come with proper clips to clip in to the body work ,the other versions are stuck on with sticky tape so to speak.  As far as the worth of genuine badges, it depends what the person is willing to pay.

Yes I understood the difference between aftermarket and VW. Has anyone ever purchased a replacement? I still can't get the part listed in my copy of ETKA!

Even my local VW dealer could not find the part :?

I think thats because when an item is no longer stocked or obsolete the part number is no longer valid . I tried at my local VW dealer to trace some rare bits !! But they no longer exist so are not listed . Despite me having the part numbers .

The part's man at my local dealer has a cab MK1 but despite ringing round he has not been able to find some rare parts listed as available at dealers on ETKA despite being in the business so to speak . I think as in all large business the system is not all its cracked up to be ….

In a nut shell if it ain't  listed at the dealer you can't get it …..  And VW have no intention of stocking it any more .

Yep, I have had replacements of all three badges at the beginning of this year. I also last week spent some time ringing round dealers in the uk checking if they all came up with the same "obsolete" answer (not that  I don't trust my local dealer  :banghead: ) and the dealers I called all said the parts were obsolete.

I do sell the badges thru' my site (along with other bits), but they aren;t cheap to buy to start with for the set of three, but they are the pin type and not stick on.
