Rally Driving Experience
I was bought one of the "virgin experience days" (pretty excited till i figure out what it was ) for my birthday back in march and I noticed that it's almost run out, so I've just booked in at Silverstone on the 29th November.
Really looking forward to it even if it is a Ford Focus ST, it's obviously rally spec though!
Anyone else done anything like this..?

Funny you mention that, a mate of mne was moaning on about his last Monday. His wife bought it for him. He went to Oxfordshire for it. It turned out to be three laps of a short off road circuit that took less than ten minutes then a couple of laps with a 'pro'. The whole thing took less than an hour and was totally rubbish.
Don't know who he booked it through and there's no reason to assume they're all the same but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Yeah I was asking about it on the phone, apparently it's only 2 1/2 hours and only 30mins you get to drive the car for…
I must say I wouldn't pay ?150 for it, but as it's a present I don't care!
I chose Silverstone because it was the only one that said you have to be driving for over a year hehe

My mum got one of the "choose your experience" thingies for my Dad at Croft a few years ago, could have chosen between rally driving, an e-type, lotus exige (I think) and a little single seater (i think formula renault) thingy.
He never went and it expired 8O
Safe to say he's not lived it down yet… my mum was fuming!

I did a driving day thing at castle combe.
It was bought for me for my 18th birthday present. Was a brilliant day drove the formula ford and ford focus ( unfortunately) lasted about 3-4 hours altogther and was well worth it.
had a friend do the same at castle combe but a higher spec one with the impreza and lotus elise as well, he had the same opinion too. well worth it i think seeing as it ent your own car. tis a worry free day

wat you should do is do an off road day. if you have never been off roading before its a wicked experience, low speeds but going over terrain you would never imagine was possible. depends wat yer lookin for really

My grandad did one at silverstone, went round the track with the instructor for about 3 laps then some of his own, he said he really enjoyed it though.

my mate did the same at silverstone in the ST on sunday, and he loved it, said it was the best thing he ever did (coming from a 20 year old) wasnt much driving but, it was quite wet so it made it alot better. it should be good, and they let you out for a little while longer too.

I did one at Oulton Park I think it was, 3 laps in a bmw with an instructor (and traction and control) which was poo, but 3 laps in a Formula 1st, now that was the best, they rev limited you but really you didnt need to go very fast and the best part was my feet were so wide they couldn't fit on the pedals properly, good day out all in all

His taxi should be arriving about now. You know, the one with the blue lights and the men in green uniforms.
